Logos Academy Two-Way Dual Immersion School is a private English/Spanish dual immersion, Christian school. Logos Academy students receive instruction in core subjects (mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies) and in religion, art, music, and physical education. Students receive this instruction in both Spanish and English. The curriculum at Logos Academy will prepare students for academic and personal success through rigorous study and instruction that is aligned with National Common Core Standards, Virginia’s Standards of Learning and Fairfax County Public Schools’ Program of Studies. Logos Academy has a special focus in bi-literacy and STEAM.

Our mission is to foster an increased academic ability that includes students becoming bilingual, bi-literate and multi-cultural so that they are fully prepared for college, career and citizenship. Our school philosophy is to provide an academically challenging, content-rich curriculum through a learner centered teaching approach committed to developing skills in thinking critically, solving complex problems, working collaboratively, and communicating effectively. Our school community is one where all students are known, respected, and valued as individuals of great potential.

Developing awareness and respect for different cultures, ethnic and racial backgrounds is part of our mission at Logos Academy. Teaching young learners about different cultures fosters tolerance and diversity, giving them a wider perspective on the world, appreciation, and respect for the differences in everyone. At Logos, our cultural studies, along with our positive behavior and intervention system, and social curriculum prevents fewer misconceptions, stereotypes and bullying incidents by increasing students’ understanding and respect for diversity.

In a two-way dual immersion program, the most effective learning environment is student-centered where digital learning is incorporated to facilitate student learning across the curriculum in both Spanish and English. Logos Academy will embrace a stimulating digital learning environment where technology is used to provide opportunities for teachers to apply evidenced based practices that support effective learner-centered instruction. The use of technology will improve our productivity and facilitate meaningful ways to help students investigate, collaborate, analyze, synthesize and present their learning. It will allow us to create an environment of engaged, participative learners and more productive teachers and staff who contribute to an empowered school and community

Learning targets and national, state and district standards will be used as a guide for every subject and will be covered for Kindergarten in a careful and methodical process that includes all concepts in a well sequenced and balanced program.
